There is a movie coming out that the NFL will not like and the title is Concussion starring Will Smith. Smith plays a doctor named Bennet Omalu who finds out about CTE in NFL players. Sony Pictures made some changes so they would not get the NFL’s wrath, but the movie director Peter Landesman in a statement to the Associated Press disputes the claim. The movie will be released out on Christmas Day near the end of the NFL regular season. The movie will do a significant amount of damage to the NFL, and this is not the first time that talking about concussion has ruffled the feathers of the league. ESPN backed out of showing A League of Denial and it was showed on PBS. Sony Pictures have no relationship with the NFL, and the controversial matter that the movie is about will spark the conversation about head injuries especially CTE in the news.
