Game 2 Vs Lightning

The Penguins came out for a fast start in-game two and Matt Cullen scored to give them a 1-0 lead.  Then Phil Kessel scored to give the Penguins a 2-0 lead.   Tampa controlled the last part of the 1st period.  Anton Stralman cut the lead to 2-1 and Johnathan Drouin tied it with 50 seconds left in the period.  Lightning goalie Andrei Vasilevskiy filling in for Ben Bishop made some big saves late in the period.

Matt Murray was fighting the puck during the second period and during one of the tv time-out Head Coach Mike Sullivan told Marc Andre Fleury to stay ready.  There were no goals in the second period, but both goalies made some big saves in the period.   Sidney Crosby played on a line with Evgeni Malkin trying to the spark the offense.

In the third period, both teams had their chances with each goalie making critical saves.  Connor Sheary started out with the top line but wound up benched by Coach Sullivan.  Neither team could score a goal and game went into overtime.  Then 40 seconds into overtime Sidney Crosby scored on a wrist shot and the Penguins  won the game 3-2 and tied the series at 1 game apiece.  Credit Coach Sullivan for shorting his bench and double shifting Crosby that helped lead to the game winning goal.

Game 3 is Wednesday night at the Amalie Arena in Tampa with face-off at 8:00 P.M.
