I was very impressed with the Steelers offense, and it started with offensive line protecting Ben Roethlisberger, plus opening holes for the running game. DeAngelo Williams rushed for 143 yards scoring two touchdowns. Ben threw for 300 yards and three touchdowns. Antonio Brown proved to Josh Norman, and a national audience that he is one of best receivers in the NFL. Brown had 8 catches for 128 yards for two touchdowns.
The defense put the pressure on Kirk Cousins and forced two interceptions, and stopped the Redskins running game. However, there were no sacks and that has to improve next week against the Cincinnati Bengals. Special Teams were good with Chris Boswell making all 5 of his extra points and a 46-yard field goal. Jordan Berry had a good day punting the football. The only thing that has to improve is the return game. It all worked in a 38 to 16 Steelers victory to start the season at 1-0.
The Cincinnati Bengals will be looking redemption from last year’s playoff loss. The Steelers offense had to continue to make plays and run the ball well against a stout Bengals defense. The Steelers defense has to put the pressure on Andy Dalton and limit A.J Green’s ability to make big plays.
