From The Pitch No Swiss Miss

On Wednesday night,  The United States Women’s National soccer team took on Switzerland in an international friendly match in Sandy,Utah.   This team had a mixture of youth and experience.   Head Coach Jill Ellis brought some players from the NWSL,  the under-20 team and the college ranks.   They had some chances in the first half but did not  break through against Switzerland who was packed in.   Then in 46th minute Lynn Williams scored her first-ever goal for the national team on a breakaway.   Williams who was the NWSL MVP for the Western NY Flash.  Then in the 61st minute,  Crystal Dunn gave a great pass to Tobin Heath who buried it for a 2-0  U.S.lead.    Eight minutes later Kelli O’Hara fed a pass to Christen Press who scored to give the U.S. a 3-0 lead.   Then in the 76th minute,  Sam Mewis closed out the scoring give the U.S. a 4-0 win.   The U.S had the superior talent and it shined through in the second half.   Sunday afternoon, these two teams meet at U.S Bank Stadium in Minneapolis, Minnesota with kickoff time at 2:00 P.M.
