This afternoon at U.S Bank Stadium in Minneapolis, Minnesota, U.S Women’s National Soccer team took on Switzerland. The U.S came out in a 3-5-2 formation, but Sandrine Mauron scored in the 2nd minute to give the Swiss a 1-0 lead. However, that goal sparked the U.S team. The team got quality scoring chances the rest of the 1st half, and Carli Lloyd tied the game at 1 in the 25th minute. That was the score going into halftime. Lloyd scored her 2nd of the game in the 51st minute to give the U.S a 2-1 lead. Then two minutes later, Christen Press increased the lead to 3-1.
Crystal Dunn scored in the 63rd minute after taking a great pass from Lynn Williams to increased the lead to 4-1. Then in the 82nd minute, Kealia Ohai scored in her national team debut to make the final score 5-1 U.S. I was impressed with the young players in these past two games. I expected more young players to get their opportunities when they take on Romania in two international friendlies next month.
