From The Pitch Rolling Romania

Tonight’s U.S Women National Team match versus Romania would not be much of a contest.   In Avaya Stadium in San Jose, California it would a total domination from the start.   Christen Press would open the scoring in the 8th minute.  Two minutes later, Tobin Heath would increase the U.S lead to 2-0.   They attacked for the entire first half, and Morgan Brian would score in the 25th minute to give the U.S a 3-0 lead.    Goalkeeper Ashlyn Harris made a misplace in the 31st minute and Laura Rus scored to cut the U.S lead to 3-1.   Press would score her 2nd goal of the game in the 35th minute to increase the U.S lead to 4-1.    Then 3 minutes later  Press would get a hat trick and a 5-1 U.S lead going into halftime.

In the second half, Alex Morgan would score in the 52nd minute to increase the U.S lead to 6-1.  Then in the 72nd minute, Morgan would get her 2nd goal of the match to widen the U.S margin 7-1.   Romania’s Maria Fizcay would deflect a Tobin Heath shot for an own goal to make the final score 8-1 for the U.S.  They would able to dominate Romania  for the whole 90 minutes.  The U.S played well even without the reigning FIFA player of the year Carli Lloyd who was getting married.   The rematch will take place this Sunday night at the StubHub Center in Carson, California with kickoff time for 9:30 P.M.
