2017 Stanley Cup Playoffs Game 1 vs Columbus Blue Jackets

Matt Murray was injured during pregame warm-ups and Marc-Andre Fleury was the starter.  Fleury earned the number one star with an outstanding game stopping 31 Columbus shots.    His performance sparked a Penguins 3-1 win over the Blue Jackets.  After a scoreless first period, Bryan Rust scored 1:!5 into the 2nd period to give Pittsburgh a 1-0 lead.    Phil Kessel would score on the power play to increase the lead to 2-0.  Nick Bonino would score later on in the period to give the Pens a 3-0 lead after 40 minutes of play.

Matt Calvert spoiled Fleury’s bid for a shutout, but the Penguins have a 1-0 series lead going into game two at PPG Paints Arena Friday night with the faceoff at 7:00 P.M
