2017 Stanley Cup Playoffs Game 1 Vs Washington Capitals

It was a tough game against the Washington Capitals and it was a scoreless first period.  Both teams were careful about making a mistake and the play on the ice proved it.   Sidney Crosby went to work 12 seconds into the second period giving the Pens a 1-0 lead.   Then Crosby scored again 52 seconds later to increase the lead to 2-0.     Near the end of the period, Alex Ovechkin scored on a slap shot to cut the Penguins lead to 2-1 after the second period.  The Penguins went into a shell from the 2nd period to midway through the 3rd period.  Evgeny Kuznetsov tied the game with a wrist and the Caps had control of the game.     Nick Bonino scored with 7:23 left in the game and Marc-Andre Fleury mad some incredible saves.   That equal a 3-2 Penguins win and a 1-0 lead in the series.   Game 2 is at Verizon Center on Saturday night with faceoff at 8:00 P.M.
