2017 Stanley Cup Playoffs Eastern Conference Finals Game 1 Vs Ottawa Senators

Ottawa came into game one with nothing to lose because they are not favored to win the series.     There was one goal in the first period when Jean-Gabriel Pageau scored on a Brian Dumoulin’s turnover.   The Senators carried that lead on the superb goal tending Craig Anderson.   The Penguins changed their tactics in the third period and Evgeni Malkin tied the game at 1.    The game went into overtime and the Senators were 5-1 in the extra period.   Bobby Ryan stole the puck and raced past Olli Maatta scoring on a backhand shot against Marc-Andre Fleury.   The goal gave Ottawa a 2-1 win and a 1 game to none series lead.     This game was a combination of Ottawa playing the lead and the Penguins inability to score on the power play.    The Penguins have to come out with a sense of urgency.    Game 2 will be Monday night at PPG Paints Arena with the faceoff at 8:00 P.M.
